We just completed our CE classes for the spring. As some of you may know, we donate the proceeds from these classes to charity. So far this year Investors Title Company has donated $5,342.00 to various charities. Thanks to all of you who came. They are really fun for me to do.
One issue I discuss in my classes, (but maybe not enough) is the importance of utilizing the Association of Realtor Boards forms. You know, Board forms are not there just for your convenience. (although they are helpful) The forms exist to protect you from liability. They are approved by attorneys and contain necessary language and disclosures that prevent misunderstanding and disputes that can occur when “free-lance” clauses are written. Even though much communication on deals is done by email and text today, when giving notice pursuant to a contract provision. (the Title and Survey paragraph, for example), the proper Board from should be used, not email or text, which I have seen on numerous occasions.
So, have a great June. We are looking forward to closing lots of deals this month as it is often our busiest month of the year. Hope you are busy as well. My CE classes start up again in July and this time they are for the St. Louis Association of Realtors. The dates are July 20 at 1:00 p.m., August 29 at 1:00 p.m. and September 14 at 9:00 a.m. at the Board. I look forward to seeing some of you there.
